CMSWire Sitecore Migration

Building a scalable publishing platform with
advanced search capabilities to deliver relevant content.

Project Description

A Sitecore and Coveo implementation with a strong focus on building a scalable publishing platform tailored to CMSWire’s business requirements.

CMSWire had outgrown its original blog platform and was looking for an enterprise level CMS that could schedule publishing of around 250 articles a month, manage an editorial workflow for articles, events, and white papers, and integrate with Marketo marketing automation.

Sitecore + Coveo were the winning combination for a scalable digital experience platform. With Coveo’s AI Search we were able to create resource directory for all research and white paper assets. Metadata is seamlessly leveraged to provide an intuitive, faceted menu. The assets are integrated with Marketo landing pages and Google Analytics campaigns. We implemented a robust tagging system which generates the majority of content displaying in content blocks and menus sitewide.

Content migration planning was a big focus, with 18,000 articles and metadata to map from the legacy platform to Sitecore. We customized Sitecore’s standard URL processing system to preserve the original URL’s of existing articles. With hundreds of author profiles, tags, categories, and other metadata we needed to plan migration entirely with automated scripts.

Recently, we moved CMSWire to a headless architecture using our Sitecore Headless Service. This effort allowed us to leverage the flexibility, speed of development and performance inherent in headless development principles.
